Marriage Unions

It has been argued that homosexual marriages are OK because people ought to be able to form any type of marriage unions that they desire. In other words, if heterosexuals can get married - then why not homosexuals?

Well, let's just follow this line of reasoning to where it can, and certainly will, take us.

If one can pursue the marriage union of his choice, then why couldn't a man marry his dog? You may "boo hoo" this, but seriously, "Why not?" And if one can pursue the marriage union of his choice, why couldn't an older man marry a little boy or a little girl? And believe me, in America, there are those who would take marriage unions into these areas.

Our Creator said that marriage is between a man and a woman (Mark 10:7), and this arrangement has been working well for the human race since the beginning of time. But when we stray away from God's Standard of marriage, we open Pandora's box"! We initiate a process that has no brakes. There is no stopping place this side of hell. In fact, anything will go, and what a mess that will be.                                                                             -Dave Atnip, Sr.
Jesus' Birth and Death

Jesus was born: it's a fact of history that can't be successfully disputed. I am very thankful that Jesus was born;  and I am happy about the goodwill that permeates society at the time of year around the 25th, because of Jesus' influence. (If Jesus never really lived, as some today allege, then a lie does more good than the truth.); and most of the human race is crazy for celebrating the birth of a mythical character, and for basing their calendars on His birth (BC and AD).
Yes, Jesus is a historical personage:  however, you may not be aware of the fact that Jesus never told us, in the New Testament, to celebrate His birth. He did tell us, however, to celebrate His death every Sunday by partaking of the Lord's supper. (Acts 20:7).
Not many are moved to change their lives by simply seeing a baby in a manger; but the great love of God (John 3:16;  Ephesians 2:4), displayed by Jesus' death on the cross constains and moves us (1 Corinthians 5:14), answers so many of Life's questions, and solves our deepest problems.
Paul therefore says, "For I determined not to know anything among you, save Jesus Christ, and Him crucified."                                            Corinthians 2:2

OMISSIONS
It's not so much the things I do --
that cause me to regret.
It's the little things I leave undone,
the things that I forget.
It's words I fail to utter.
The songs I fail to sing.
The letters I forget to write,
that may great comfort bring.
It's the little acts of kindness,
the joy I fail to give,
The smiles I fail to scatter,
as day by day I live.
It's the sick I fail to visit,
flowers I fail to send.
It's the hand I fail to offer --
unto a fallen friend.
It is not so much the things I do
that cause me to regret.
It's the little things I leave undone,
the things that I forget.

WHO CAN STAND BEFORE HIS COLD?

The weather we've been having lately reminds me of a Bible verse:

"He casteth forth his ice like morsels; who can stand before His cold?"  (Ps. 147:17)

It actually gets so cold in some places that diesel fuel congeals in fuel tanks and takes on  the consistency of jelly.
That's cold!

The 'Second Law of Thermodynamics' (A very well known and universally recognized scientific law), says that all material things tend toward getting old and wearing out.
Energy goes from usable to unusable (You burn up a log, get heat from It, and then all that's left is ashes and gasses in the air.). It goes from hot to cold, and stays that way.
According to this law, then, the whole universe is slowly getting cooler, not warmer, and that includes our sun and our earth.

However, there's no need to worry because the One Who was big enough, strong enough, and wise enough to make everything will surely take care of everything.
